You Are Not Broken: This Week’s Reminder on Metabolic Healing
Dec 21, 2025So many people come into my office feeling frustrated, ashamed, and exhausted convinced that their metabolism, their habits, or their willpower is defective. That belief is not only untrue, it’s harmful.
What we talked about this week is a different approach.
Your body isn’t failing you. It’s responding to stress, injury, overwhelm, and years of being asked to do too much with too little support. Healing doesn’t come from punishment or restriction it comes from care.
We also talked about why overeating and “bad habits” make sense. Food often becomes a source of comfort, reliability, and relief when life feels heavy. Before we can change those patterns, we have to understand them without shame.
Another powerful reminder this week: health is not a solo sport. Isolation increases stress and inflammation. Support, community, and asking for help are not weaknesses they are essential parts of healing.
And finally, we focused on small steps. Real progress doesn’t come from going all-in or doing everything at once. It comes from consistent, gentle actions that tell your body it’s safe to heal.
This week wasn’t about fixing yourself.
It was about beginning rehabilitation with compassion.
